You must possess skills in SolidWorks CAD and are looking to develop personally and professionally in a rapidly growing manufacturing company. This is a 12 month placement and is based at our main office in Cumbernauld.

Project Description
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a dynamic and rapidly expanding SME which manufactures in the UK and distributes globally. Known in the industry for innovative, high demand and top quality educational furniture you will work closely with several divisional offices with an incredibly varied product portfolio enacting change and improvement daily.
Specifically, this project will see you designing and creating a suite of school room layouts. The end result will see us being a one-stop solution for any school new build or refurbishments, optimising the offering we are able to present from our product portfolio.
Role Description
Main Tasks:
- Taking products from our existing range to
create vibrant, exciting and practical nursery, classroom and dining area
layouts to aid the sales teams using SolidWorks 3D CAD. Build a library of
common room layouts
- Produce standardised customer presentation packs
that will include your plans, elevations, perspectives and numerous rendered
visuals along with accurate quotations, achieving customers’ quotation return
expectations
- Produce photo realistic renders to better
display company products in education environments or for marketing literature
- Production of product assembly instructions
(paper and video format), operation and maintenance manuals and product
specification sheets
- Produce standard operating procedures for use in
our production facilities
- Investigating product faults and devising practical
and innovative solutions
- Assist in developing and designing new and
existing products for the Group to improve the product range; reducing cost
through new materials and more efficient manufacturing processes
Qualifications
A degree in product design engineering or related discipline

Essential Skills
- SolidWorks and CAD experience
- Engineering and Design capabilities
- Innovative and creative in terms of thinking and application
- Graphic design ability with an eye for composition and good document layout
- Practical/logical
- Hardworking, committed and conscientious attitude
- Excellent self-manager
- Comfortable meeting deadlines in fast-changing environment
