Glencraft Ltd is a social enterprise company based in Aberdeen and is involved in the manufacture of mattresses with clients mainly in the north east of Scotland. We are looking to recruit a graduate to work with us on a 12 month placement with the focus on helping us diversify our product range and implement new marketing and branding initiatives to support the launch of these new products.

Project Description

Following a recent strategic business review, our business is gearing up to launch a new range of products which will maintain and build our reputation as a manufacturer of quality mattresses. This 12 month graduate placement aims to provide us with business development and marketing support to underpin the new product development work which is already underway. You will be tasked with helping us promote the new range to existing and new customers and will also get the opportunity to learn about all aspects of our business which will enable you to do your job to the maximum of your capabilities. There will also be opportunities to be the face of Glencraft and represent us at key meetings and events. This is a rare opportunity to help an established business in what is a very exciting chapter in our history and you will bring new ideas as well and lots of enthusiasm to make things happen.

Placement Objectives

The placement will provide professional, graduate-level business development and marketing support to assist our company as it embarks on launching a new range of products which aims to maintain our reputation as a manufacturer of quality mattresses.

Role Description

Main Tasks:

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders: Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, SCDI, Clients, Customers as well as senior business leaders
• Co-ordinate the submission of bids and tenders
• Responsible for co-ordinating all fundraising activities including the annual ‘Big Bed Ball’ which brings in c£50,000 per year
• Attendance and administration of monthly board meetings as well as tracking the risks and actions spreadsheets
• Participate in product development meetings
• Identify requirements in marketing and branding for new products
• PR including writing and submitting award applications and editorials as well as organising open events and monitoring social media
• Focal Point for Argos & Tesco
• Attendance of various networking events around Aberdeen in order to positively promote the brand as well as identifying where Glencraft may be able to help others

Qualifications

HND or Degree in Business related discipline would be ideal although we also welcome applications from graduates with other qualifications who possess the qualities needed to be successful in the role.
