Benefits

Company benefits

A small business environment is well placed to allow employees to build personal relationships with customers, employees and suppliers. At eCom you know who you are dealing with; you can 'put a face' to the person you are in contact with.  Having that personal relationship means you can also respond flexibly to problems and challenges reaching quick decisions on whether or not we can do what is required.

The supportive team environment means when decisions are made we all pull together to make these happen. The team approach also assists in the focus on inventiveness and innovation.

We are constantly striving for excellence in everything that we do and being a smaller company makes us well positioned to introduce and develop new ideas in a quick time frame.

A negative of being in a small business can be the lack of career development, but at eCom we make sure this is not the case.  We expect people to learn, develop and grow personally and professionally.  We have a Career management programme in place to show potential career growth, although flexibility is there to ‘grow your own’ and our Competency framework identifies talent for the ongoing growth of the business.

We very much like to take care of each other and start with the basics.  Thoughtfulness and empathy are key to good working relationships, keeping in mind the deadlines and schedules that others may be working too.  A good working environment also helps, with spacious on-site free parking, coffee/tea, biscuits and fruit all supplied fresh each week.  Although we are not all as saintly and there is a tuck shop available for those days when only chocolate will suffice!

Scottish weather dependant we enjoy walking meetings where possible and try to keep our meetings concise and to the point to stay as productive as possible.  This assists with making the working day as flexible as we can to suit individuals work-life balance.

We also have the statutory financial benefits of Company Pensions Scheme, Childcare vouchers and generous holiday entitlement that includes (currently) 2 weeks off at Christmas.

Placement benefits

As part of the ScotGrad Graduate Placement Programme, you may have access to a tailored graduate business skills training course. ScotGrad placements also offer a unique opportunity to connect with a vast network of graduates and ScotGrad alumni. All graduates appointed through the programme are encouraged to make use of the ScotGrad LinkedIn group to communicate with other ScotGrad participants, learn about any professional development opportunities and build up a professional network.
