Cantraybridge College, a rural skills training college for young people with disabilities, are looking to recruit a Graduate Marketing and Communications Officer to deliver a 12 month project. The graduate will be required to develop a marketing and communications action plan and raise the profile of the College.

Project Description
The successful candidate will be required to extend awareness and uptake of two main areas of business.
Firstly, Cantray Park is a new and growing social enterprise arm of Cantraybridge and key goals for this part of the project include raising awareness of our venue hire facilities through producing online and hard copy publicity materials that promote Cantray Park and our services.
Secondly, Cantraybridge College has aspirations to achieve national centre of excellence status. To achieve this, we expect the graduate to build on the previous communications work and scope out the requirements for obtaining national status for the college.
The placement will entail producing written/video materials that support our communications strategy.
Specific tasks of the placement will include:

Ensure that the graduate understands the scope and nature of the project and how she/he will be supported. |

Review existing communications strategy and agree priority areas for attention. |
Be able to match business priorities with graduate’s skills and interests.

Develop an action plan for implementing key marketing and communications activities.

Ensure that the graduate is supported yet challenged throughout the project so that they can evidence their skills at the end of the project. |
Month 3 |
Present action plan to the senior management team for onward endorsement and resource allocation and provide quarterly updates on progress.

Get buy-in form senior management team to embed good communications and marketing strategy.

End of Month 3 |
Develop the use of hootesuite/similar applications for promoting Cantraybridge College’s social media presence. |
To increase the interaction of and reach of our presence online.

Month 4 |
Assist in working towards the attainment of Cantraybridge College being a national centre of excellence.

Increase the profile of Cantraybridge. |
Months 4-12 |
Attend promotional business and industry events in order to promote services e.g. business networking events, health and social care event.

Increase presence and promotional activity. Initially this will be done alongside another staff member but as skills and competence grow it is expected that this will be undertaken by the graduate alone. |
Months 4-12 |
Organise and coordinate opportunities to develop a national presence at sector conferences and workshop events.
|
Cantraybridge becomes known as a source of leading edge service provision and policy making in-health and social care. |
Between Months 6-12 for preparation and subsequently delivering outputs. |
Review progress and capture evidence of outcomes & provide a report. |
Ensure that there are feedback loops in place to capture vital organisational learning so that future communications strategy can be realised. |
Between Months 6-12 |
Host and organise a sector event at Cantraybridge attracting senior and influential national figures in the health and social care sector. |
Build on the groundwork undertaken to increase national awareness and use feedback to inform the next phase of the communications strategy. |
Between Months 8-11 |
Future job coaching/career planning with graduate. The graduate will also provide a handover document. |
Ensure that the graduate is able to capitalise on their experience and has enough time to plan their next steps. |

Qualifications
Minimum HND in Business Management, PR and Communications. Other candidates may be considered provided they have the required skills.

Essential Skills
- Ability to assume responsibility for project management and completion
- Ability to understand the business, its purpose and what it is trying to achieve
- Ability to apply current communications and marketing techniques to the Cantraybridge business model
- Confident in communicating with a range of people from service users to senior managers
- Knowledge of up to date social media communications
- Driving licence
Desirable Skills
- An interest in working with young people with additional support needs
- Experience of volunteering or the third sector
