Following the completion of a major development project, Abbotsford have an opportunity for a Digital Marketing Officer to take a leading role in establishing and managing industry leading digital marketing communications. with strong links to national organisations. This 12 month placement will be done on a part-time basis (3 days per week).

Project Description
Under the guidance of the Chief Executive, and collaborating closely with the Marketing & Communications Officer, to lead on the delivery of actions highlighted in the Digital Marketing Action Plan in an innovative and engaging way that reflects the brand’s unique personality.
Placement Objectives
- To increase the number of new and repeat visitors to Abbotsford, and to stimulate customer recommendations and referrals.
- To increase occupancy rates in Abbotsford’s 5 star luxury self catering accommodation.
- To increase wedding enquiries.
Role Description
Main Tasks:
- Assist the Marketing & Communications Officer to secure strong content (writing text, capturing and editing images & video) from colleagues across the organisation for distribution through digital channels
- With the Marketing & Communications Officer take a leading role in social media activity, and assist in updating the website
- Lead on establishing and delivering Abbotsford’s first Google Adwords campaign, utilising credits under Google’s charity scheme
- Analyse web trends and data to make recommendations to further optimise our digital presence
- Manage third party website listings, engage in discussion forums, and establish agency ticket sales
- To lead on producing, sending and evaluating email newsletters, and assist the Marketing & Communications Officer to increase subscription numbers
- Assist the Chief Executive to develop relationships with digital media contacts and compile a comprehensive and detailed database of relevant local, national and international digital media contacts
- Work with all departments to develop press releases, organising photo opportunities and press calls on site and responding to media enquiries. Catalogue all digital media coverage.
- Ensure brand integrity for Abbotsford including advising colleagues and contractors in understanding the Abbotsford brand and sub brands, ensuring Corporate Guidelines are adhered to
- Undertake financial administration for digital marketing including; processing and coding invoices for payment, liaising with the Finance team, monitoring expenditure against marketing budgets, and obtaining quotes and raising purchase orders
- Undertake information gathering and basic research for the Chief Executive as delegated, for example researching digital trends
- Maintain information systems for marketing and communications as required, including creating of mailing lists, updating databases, central records of media publicity and press releases
Qualifications
A degree or marketing diploma or similar relevant qualification
Skills / Experience
Essential Skills
-
Knowledge of and confidence in online channels, including website content maintenance, and a range of social media
- Knowledge of marketing and PR, ideally including an understanding of media relations and brand integrity
- Exceptional writing skills are essential along with proficiency in using image and video editing software.
- Strong written communication skills, including ability to draft and copy edit press releases, bulletins and promotional materials that combine flair with attention to detail

- Analytical and creative skills and ability to undertake basic research and development support
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships and engage with the general public and with PR and media related contacts
