Kyria is a small but growing software development company, based on the outskirts of Glasgow (Strathclyde Business Park, Bellshill). We have general capability in software development and integration, and have recently embarked on product development. As a result, we are looking for a talented graduate to work within the company to assist with the commercialisation of two products.
This is an excellent graduate level opportunity for the right candidate and the prospect of a permanent role at the end of the placement is a realistic possibility.
Job description
Project Description
The majority of Kyria's focus to date has been on the technical development of the two products (below) and this placement will bring a focus on the marketing and product material that is needed for the successful promotion and ultimately commercial success of the products.
- SIMPLE - is a warehouse management product that is currently installed at three distribution sites of a global company. We are looking to extend to further sites internationally in the near future
- STARS - is a training and appraisal management product that is targeted at the same set of customers as SIMPLE
Placement Objectives
The objective of this 12 month project is to develop a full set of marketing / technical documents to establish both SIMPLE and STARS as credible products in the marketplace.
Role Description
Working with both the directors and developers, you will play a vital role in planning and then delivering content for the following areas:
- Business Benefit / Value Proposition
- Product Technical Documentation
- How-to / Training Content
It is envisaged that the content will include both written and video formats, and be delivered via the company’s website. Part of this role will also be to identify the part that social media should play in the strategy.
Qualifications
This placement would suit candidates with a degree in one of the following disciplines:-
- Business and Management (with focus on Marketing)
- Digital Media and Information Studies
- Engineering
Candidates with a different degree, but with the required skills are also invited to apply.
Skills / Experience
Essential Skills
- Ability to convey complex ideas with clarity and simplicity
- Excellent written communication skills (spelling, grammar AND style)
- Good eye for visual design
- Strong marketing and commercial perspective
- High level of personal motivation
- High attention to detail
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable Skills
- Social media skills
- Some experience of WordPress and video manipulation would be an advantage
- Confidence and creativity in suggesting new ideas
