Placement summary

We are seeking an ambitious life scientist interested in Business Development, who is not scared of the challenge in joining our vibrant team. This is a 12 week client facing Business Development role, based in Glasgow. You will support our team in generating new enquiries and leads for one of our product/tissue lines, details of which will be confirmed.

Project Description

The successful candidate will be given a specific product range to work on, and will need to identify new contacts that may find these of interest. The initial work will be internet and phone based research to generate a list of key targets. They will then prepare emails/marketing materials and make contact with them in an attempt to create relationships. This will give the successful candidate an amazing insight into the sector with many contacts to be made.

Tasks will include:

• Developing an understanding of the type of end uses who would use the product/tissue.
• Internet and phone based research to identify possible contacts.
• Prepare marketing materials and emails to allow them to contact the client with the right message.
• Managing the sales cycle from enquiry generation to order in (if good at it!)

Qualifications

This placement is part of The Scottish Life Sciences Internship Programme. The programme is only open to students in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year, who are studying an undergraduate Life Science Degree in Scotland.
