Ladarnas Ltd is preparing to launch a dedicated software development division to expand operations and bring our current bespoke offerings to market as products. As part of this expansion, we are seeking a graduate level .Net developer to join our team. This is an exciting time to join the business and grow with it - you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects and with a variety of cutting edge systems and technologies. This initial 12 month placement is intended to transition into a permanent role, based in Edinburgh.

Project Description

As a young technology company, we have just rebranded and are expanding into the software development market using modern development techniques and systems such as code first development, entity framework, mvc and agile methodologies. We work on bespoke technology solutions for customers and the main role of the graduate will be to take at least one of these to product level.

We have a number of different projects that you may be involved with, for example, the intelligent predictive analysis of problems like creating an analysis tool for assessing and predicting the performance of well heads in oil and gas field production to understand potential loss reduction rate and how processes can be improved.

The main project you will work on in the first instance will be to integrate voice technology into other platforms, on the back of work that Microsoft have recently released. This is a brand new, innovative project to get your teeth stuck into and explore exciting solutions to.

Placement Objectives

The core objective is to get at least one of our bespoke offerings to product level. You will play a key role in the development of these products and will gain valuable experience in a commercial environment.

The other objective is for you to get up to speed with the languages and development practices we are using, to the extent that you can give a strong, unsupervised contribution to the team by the end of the year.

Role Description

Based in our city centre offices, this is an opportunity to join the team at a key point in the growth of the company and work with a wide variety of clients. We will help you develop both your technical skills and client facing skills.

This is a small office so you will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the business and learn new skills.

Your day to day will be mostly focused on working with the technical lead, front-end developer and an intern in an agile environment creating key products for our portfolio. The first of which, will be around integrating voice technology into other platforms, but you will also be able to get involved in intelligent learning, and business process analysis tools.

Lomg term, we would hope to see you progress in the business, to look at client-facing roles and independent development of solutions for the business.

Qualifications

Graduate from HNC, HND, undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Computer Science preferred but not required so long as programming knowledge can be demonstrated.

Skills / Experience

Essential Skills

• C# - solid understanding of how it works and prepared to put it into practice
• Strong Analytical skills
• .Net - good understanding

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge and/or experience of MVC
• Knowledge and/or experience of Entity Framework
• Good Communication skills
• Knowledge and/or experience of any of the following would also be beneficial: PHP, MySQL, SQL Server, HTML, CSS.
