ITL are on the lookout for a talented and ambitious marketing / business development graduate who is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in to join our family in East Kilbride. You will help further develop ITL's marketing within key sectors plus help develop and execute our global marketing strategy. This is a 12 month placement with high potential of a permanent role thereafter.

Project Description

ITL have been designing, manufacturing and supplying custom protection and measurement transformers for 40 years. (Yes we’re that old….) Having built up longstanding relationships with many well-known brands in the global energy sector, it is time to step up a gear (maybe several…) and creatively engage a wider audience.

You will help further develop ITL's marketing within key sectors plus help develop and execute our global marketing strategy. This will be a achieved through market research, direct contacting of companies in the UK, Europe and other existing/target market areas, to promote ITL and establish them as a potential/preferred supplier. Familiarisation with the company’s products and its potential market areas.

Project Objectives:

  • Increase global visability of the ITL brand.
  • Increase business turnover.
  • Introduction of new long term methodology in business communication.
  • Introduction to new markets.
  • Successful launch of new product line.

Role Description:

Reporting to, and working alongside, the Marketing Director, as well as liaising with engineering colleagues, the successful graduate will be responsible for understanding new markets, developing strategies and managing implementation. We are looking forward to welcoming fresh ideas into the business, so we are looking for someone who will give us feedback and suggest innovative techniques and tools for developing our reach, as well as someone who is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in to implementing those ideas.

Key tasks will include:

  • Undertake market research to identify new business opportunities /companies in the power generation and distribution sectors, including switchgear and panel board manufacturers, generator manufacturers, power transformer manufacturers, protection relay manufacturers, power station manufacturers, train, marine industrial, renewable energy and utility sectors.
  • Proactive inbound and outbound call handling.
  • Liaise with engineering & production teams on order progressing on behalf of the customer.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Director undertake market research to identify new business / companies to help develop & execute our international marketing strategy.
  • Prepare and despatch marketing literature for potential new business.
  • Conducting offer follow-up with feedback reporting and analysis for the management team.
  • Updating of social media channels and company website using web based interface.
  • Provide order processing assistance to Operations Support team
  • Working within a small team with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Graduate, ideally from an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, however applicants from HNC and HND qualifications also accepted. Decisions are not made on qualifications alone, if you think that you are able to contribute and have the skills necessary, please apply!

Skills / Experience

Essential:

  • Motivated and customer focused.
  • Communicate effectively and engage with existing & potential customers.
  • Good MS Office Skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point).
  • Good knowledge of social media technology.
  • Strong commercial focus and comprehension of targets.
  • Work well within a small team.
  • Fluent English is a must.

Ideal:

  • Knowledge of a foreign language would be an added bonus - particularly of interest would be Portuguese, French, German and possible Polish or Russian.
