Placement summary

An excellent opportunity to work within an innovative and exciting organisation. You will be working closely with scientists, engineers and manufacturing technicians to identify and deliver important improvements in the business. You will be involved in the initial selection of which project(s) to work on and be responsible for its evaluation and potentially its implementation. You will perform all experiments, analyse the data and present the results to management.

Project Description

We have a number of potential projects within the Production process. Projects could be improvements to existing methods, process improvements to eliminate waste or increase yields, reduce lead time and or improve product quality. You will be involved in the initial project selection which will be based upon your skills and expertise.

Qualifications

This placement is part of The Scottish Life Sciences Internship Programme. The programme is only open to students in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year, who are studying an undergraduate Life Science Degree in Scotland. Skills / Experience

Essential Skills

Experience in writing laboratory reports in a concise, accurate and clear style. Experience in data analysis and presentation. Use of Excel to collate, present and analyse data. Excellent communication skills, in both formal and informal situations.

Desirable Skills

Good qualifications in maths, life sciences, chemistry.
