Placement summary
2e-volve are looking to recruit a graduate with relevant degree in Computing Science and knowledge of network security processes to work on a year-long project to design and develop a range of services we can promote to our SME client base as part of our IT Support Contracts. Part of the project would be to work on our IT HelpDesk to understand our clients needs. This is initially a 12 month placement and will be based in Stirling but the successful candidate will be retained to help deliver the new services.
Job description
Project Description
This project is important to 2e-volve as we feel that it would not only enhance our skillset but also be a facilitator in us growing our client base of larger Blue Chip organisation and Public Sector bodies. To do this we see that we will need to change the existing modelling for providing Network Security Consultancy, based around a Project Delivery model, to our more proactive and close contact Service Model.
Placement Objectives
The ScotGrad project aims are to research existing providers of network security services and prepare a comparison document for 2e-volve’s management team; then work with our MD and 2e-volve’s Microsoft Engineers and Software Developers to construct a service model aligned to how 2e-volve deliver our services at the moment. The end result should produce a strong business model and a list of clear and defined costs for a range of security focused services.
Role Description
This is a graduate role but is also an opportunity to design and build a strong new service model for 2e-volve which will in turn will generate a full time position in our company. You will be required to work closely with our Engineering and Software Teams to understand our business model and to align our model with the new services we are going to adopt.
Qualifications
HND or Degree in ICT, Computing Science or related subject
Skills / Experience
Essential Skills
It is essential that the successful graduate will have a good understanding of server driven networks and LAN and WAN infrastructure – preferably a Computer Skills qualification with a networking and network security bias.
Desirable Skills
Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar environment.
Benefits
Company benefits
We have a strong learning culture in 2e-volve and the successful graduate would be expected to attend training courses through-out the UK when required – following which they should be able to update and enhance the skills set of our Engineering and Software Teams through knowledge transfer during the placement.
We offer a standard pattern of 40 hours per week 8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am - 3:45pm on a Friday.
Our holiday entitlement is 28 days.
Placement benefits
As part of the ScotGrad Graduate Placement Programme, the successful candidate will be allocated a space on a 3-day business and employability skills residential course, and also benefit from ongoing support from the ScotGrad team throughout the duration of the placement.
