Placement summary
Stramash, an award winning social enterprise based in Oban, is recruiting for a graduate for an exciting 12 month filmmaking role. The successful graduate will be required to make a range of films about the organisation and its work to use for marketing, publicity and general awareness raising.
Job description
Project Description
Stramash uses the outdoors for all of its different areas of work. The outdoors is a very visual place and sometimes the outcomes and impacts of the work of the organisation can be hard to quantify on paper and to portray to the general public and potential clients.
The graduate will plan, film, edit, produce and publish a broad range of short films. The subject content will be varied and will include:
• The story of Stramash
• The team
• The different activities
• The projects
• The outcomes
• The benefits
• The opportunities
The project will:
• Identify and research the different films to be made
• Provide detailed storyboards for each film
• Carry out the filming
• Edit and produce the film
• Create a bank of films that can be used in different situations by the organisation
• Leave a legacy by training Stramash staff to film in the outdoors and to edit and produce films
At the end of the project, Stramash will have a series of films that can be used to communicate the different services that the organisation offers. This will contribute significantly to the marketing of the organisation and raise the profile of Stramash, particularly via social media. As a result of the project, Stramash expects to see a significant increase in traded income. Stramash will also increase profitability considerably as the films will result in greater awareness and understanding by clients of what Stramash offers.
