ScotGrad, the award-winning Graduate Placement programme, has an excellent opportunity for a confident, enthusiastic and motivated graduate to join the team. This placement comes at an exciting time for the programme, as we look to develop a number of new projects and ideas. This will be a varied role and will assist the team with the smooth running of the programme, helping us market our opportunities, as well as implementing and developing our social media presence. This role is for 6 months and will be based in Edinburgh, with occasional visits to Glasgow. Project Description
ScotGrad is a multi-partner organisation, with team members in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Inverness.
This key project will provide the team with support to manage the programme on a day to day basis, with an emphasis on our social media activities. There will be a number of exciting marketing tasks involved, to ensure that we retain our presence and develop our offering across all Scottish universities and Careers Services.
The successful candidate will be based at Edinburgh Napier University in the centre of Edinburgh, with occasional visits to Glasgow to contribute to our team meetings. There may also be the chance to spend some time out and about, visiting universities and colleges across Scotland.
Placement Objectives
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the team, assisting with the management of our day-to-day processes as well as providing unrivalled marketing knowledge, and developing our growing social media presence.
Role Description
Tasks will include:
General
- Ensuring all enquiries are responded to in a timely fashion (through inbox, calls, or social media)
- Ensuring all candidates receive prompt replies regarding the outcome of the applications, and are signposted to relevant careers services
- Maintaining the records of ScotGrad Associates, via our ‘Tracker’
Marketing & Events
- Managing ScotGrad’s Social Media presence via Hootsuite (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube), and suggesting new channels to target
- Attending marketing events and speaking at presentations
- Assisting in weekly communication to university careers services and other relevant stakeholders
- Assisting in the management and implementation of our Social Media strategy
- Coordinating the production of marketing materials
- Editing and uploading case study content to the ScotGrad website
- Creating blog posts and articles
- Maintaining the Events spreadsheet and filling in booking forms for upcoming events
- Liaising with the Careers teams at Scottish universities and in other relevant institutions to ensure ScotGrad is represented at events and presentations across Scotland
Finances
- Timely recording and processing of invoices when required
- Managing ScotGrad Associate’s expenses (from our residential course)
Due to the nature of the programme and the work we do, there may be other tasks to complete as required. No two days are the same… We can promise you’ll never be bored!
Qualifications
HNC, HND, Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree in business, marketing or a related discipline would be ideal. All candidates who are self-starters and can demonstrate a passion for social media and marketing will be considered.
