Placement summary
In 2002, following a community land buyout, the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust (IGHT) was established to manage and develop the beautiful island of Gigha, the most southerly of the Inner Hebrides. We now have an exciting vacancy for a Business Development Graduate. The placement will entail enhancing Trust’s sustainability whilst developing opportunities for the community and promoting the island as a destination to work, live and visit.
Job description
Project Description
Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust (IGHT) has delivered several projects and initiatives to create jobs and benefit the community, e.g. housing improvement programme; upgrading the self-catering cottages; creation of pontoons for visiting boats and the installation of wind turbines.
The successful candidate will assist the Trust with the following areas:
- support the marketing and selling of house plots as well as specific assets which are deemed to be surplus to requirements - this will create opportunities for residents and those wishing to relocate to the island to build and own their home. Selling the redundant assets will create business opportunities resulting in new and varied business activity and new jobs.
- co-ordinate the promotion of Gigha as a destination to live, work and visit - marketing Gigha as a destination will add value to all of the activity above and also raise the profile of our beautiful island as a brilliant location to live, work and visit. An increase in the number of visitors will create additional economic and social impacts for Gigha and the wider Argyll and South Kintyre area.
For informal enquiries regarding this position please contact Fergus Waters, CEO, T: 01583 505390, E: [email protected].
