HIE are undertaking an ambitious, exciting and transformational journey to change the way we deliver our services and engage with our customers, and we are recruiting for a Project Officer to support us on this journey. The placement will be for 12 months, and the successful candidate will have an interest in customer engagement and how organisations can use digital tools to improve the customer experience. This placement is focused on what digital can do to enhance our delivery and customer experience, rather than the technical aspects.
Job description
Project Description
HIE is investing significantly to enable the Highlands and Islands to be a digital region. In addition, there is an increasing expectation on public sector organisations to use digital as an enabler in the delivery of public services. In this rapidly changing world, HIE needs to lead by example by embracing new ways of working.
For HIE, digital is recognised as a key element to changing how we operate; not solely relying on the technical aspect of this but the opportunities that it can bring. ‘Digital HIE’ goes beyond the technology and focuses on the culture shift that utilising digital platforms can create. Moving away from transactional relationships to working proactively to engage with our customers, placing them at the core.
HIE is committed to maximising the benefit of digital to our own business and a Digital HIE strategy has been developed and outlines HIE’s vision to be an exemplar organisation by creatively embracing digital opportunities which:
• improve organisational efficiency and effectiveness;
• support innovation;
• deliver customer expectations both now and going forward;
• drive better outcomes;
• increase transparency of organisational activity and performance.
A graduate is required to help provide some pace, momentum, energy and creative thinking in supporting the delivery of the following activities:
• How to improve the customer experience in a digital environment;
• How to use digital platforms to transform and re-imagine our products, services and information whilst ensuring that customer needs drive the content and accessibility;
• How to redesign internal processes, systems and documentation to support the customer journey of the future;
• How we transform how we communicate with and listen to our customers
• Ensuring that digital channels are optimised in the information HIE gathers, produces, presents and reports on.
This placement will involve significant cross organisational working and would be supported by the wider Digital HIE activity and business improvement agenda.
