Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd, based in Thurso, Caithness have just opened an exciting new craft distillery and have produced Rock Rose Gin. Rock Rose Gin is a small scale hand crafted gin and has sold out in the first 3 months of production. A marketing graduate is sought to enable the company to spread brand knowledge outside the Highlands of Scotland and to help to increase the sales and market share of Rock Rose Gin in the increasingly competitive gin market.
This is a really exciting 12 month opportunity to work in a new micro distillery. The position could be made permanent for the right person on this placement.

Project Description
The key output of this placement is an increase in Rock Rose Gin brand awareness across wholesalers, retailers, and social media outlets for the gin.
The marketing graduate will become a key member of our small team. The primary role will be Sales and Marketing and the project is the development of our marketing strategy and the execution of marketing events. This will commence with developing a detailed report covering 2015 events and marketing opportunities with clear recommendations on how the company’s marketing budget should be spent.
The project will involve undertaking an initial assessment of our sales and marketing materials with a view to increasing the sales and marketing effort currently deployed by the company.
We are looking for a marketing graduate who is passionate about putting into practice all that they have learned during their studies. The ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled and disciplined individual, able to cover all aspects of the Sales and Marketing process.
Other areas of the project to be covered include:
• Work to grow sales via all existing channels
• Web sales and customer engagement
• Face to face engagement via tasting events
• Retail sales and engagement
• Social Media development
• Development of processes and procedures for the company
This position could be developed by the successful candidate into a role with more freedom and more responsibility. This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.

• Online marketing and content creation experience
• Experience of creating online marketing plans and measurement tools
• Strong team player with the ability to be work independently
• Experience of the food and drinks industry
• Experience of developing marketing materials

• Experience of Quickbooks software or similar

Dunnet Bay Distillers Ltd. was formed in early 2013, and incorporated in July 2013. The organisation is made up of two directors, Martin and Claire Murray.
The company’s ambition has been to move in to the Food and Drinks sector and build a distillery in Caithness. This distillery is the most northerly distillery on the mainland Britain and it produces a premium, handcrafted gin using a fusion of traditional and locally sourced botanicals producing a quality gin with a unique taste not seen in this market. Our competitive edge is our remote location which is providing the wonderful botanicals to create a different gin on the market.
Further produce development is in place for 2015 and increased production planned.
