Placement summary
Cli Gaidhlig, based in Inverness is a recognised support organisation for adult learners of Gaelic. They are looking for a student for a 10 week placement who will develop the office systems, creating a more efficient and effective working environment. The role will also involve producing marketing materials and developing the Cli website.
Job description
Project Description
As part of the project the successful candidate will be required to:
• Update and populate the Excel data bases
• Design and produce marketing information including leaflets
• Update and develop the Cli web-site
• Liaise with the editor of the on line magazine as required
• Any other duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the office The student will receive assistance, guidance and advice at any time from the Manager and other staff when working on the project. The position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.
Qualifications
Open to all current undergraduate degree students who will return to their studies after the summer.
Skills / Experience
Essential Skills
Essential:
• An excellent knowledge of Excel and the ability to develop data bases as required
• A hands on practical attitude to problem solving
• Team worker with the ability to work on own
Desirable Skills
Desirable:
• A good knowledge of web site design
• IT skills in the use of Word

The office language is Gaelic and this will help the student to converse daily in the language. The student will receive valuable insight into office working practices and we hope some fun while doing so.
Placement benefits
As part of this ScotGrad Summer Placement Programme, the candidate will benefit from support from a team within Highlands and Islands Enterprise and also access a two day residential course training focussed on employability and business skills. Please note that we cannot support accommodation costs during the placement but where possible, we will endeavour to assist candidates in sourcing accommodation. All candidates will also be required to attend a presentation day in Inverness. More information and date will be given once the successful candidate is appointed.

Cli is the recognised support organisation for Adult Learners of Gaelic. Within that the enterprise supports a website dedicated to assisting learners to discover details on classes, events, an online course and much much more – Learngaelic.scot. We also have developed a foundation course for beginners – CliS (Còmhradh – speech; Leughadh - reading: Sgrìobhadh - writing) and for which HIE gave grant assistance. We offer other types of course including Ùlpan, Gaelic Awareness, Grammar etc.
We have recently ceased producing a printed membership magazine and moved to an on line magazine facility.
