Placement summary
Argent Energy (UK) Limited pioneered the large scale commercial production of biodiesel in the UK. Today we’re the country’s foremost biodiesel producer and our fuel is increasingly giving businesses that rely on transport a means to dramatically reduce their carbon emissions. We specialise in producing our clean, green, road fuel from by-products of other industries – specifically tallow and used cooking oil – which have few alternative uses. This 12 month placement will form part of our Safety, Health and Environment department, and will focus on reviewing, understanding and benchmarking the Aspects and Impacts which occur from the production processes, against best available control measures in line with the company’s Environmental Policy.
Job description
Project Description
This project will focus in on improvement and development levels for Argent Energy. As a company, we are highly involved in meeting our customers and owners ‘Green Credentials’ and it is incumbent upon the business to be promoting and developing new ideas for protecting the local environments where Bio-diesel is being produced. Review the current control measures we have in place to manage those emissions and how effective those controls are in relation to known Best Practice
Carry-out an environmental review of similar industry programmes with relation to understanding BATNEEC (Best Available Technology Not Entailing Excessive Costs)
Prioritise key improvement plans and highlight the minimisation levels and cost savings on projects for all 3 areas
Deliver the options on the Improvement Plan in line with the Operational Teams and Project Teams to cover areas such as CAPEX
Create and develop training and development programmes to instruct the operational teams on any change requirements
Create a project plan which is capable of being monitored and progressed through to a completion
