In March 2015 ScotGrad recruited a recent graduate, Shannon McFarlane, to work on a 6 month Social Media and Marketing Officer placement.
The primary objective of this placement was to review and develop ScotGrad's marketing strategy, in particular maintaining and developing our social media presence (on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn).
Shannon proved to be a valuable addition to the ScotGrad team, bringing fresh ideas and new skills. One such skill was Shannon's ability to use Photoshop to a high standard, allowing her to design eye-catching info-graphics. This key skill resulted in Shannon redesigning all of the ScotGrad marketing materials, including new fliers and posters.
As a keen blogger Shannon also felt that a ScotGrad Blog would be a fantastic addition to our website and this idea lead to the addition of our news hub (which you are reading now).
Shannon graduated with a Politics degree from the University of Strathclyde, illustrating how transferable skills can be utilised in an entirely different role.
In September 2015 Shannon's placement came to a close, a bitter/sweet goodbye - bitter because the ScotGrad team had to say goodbye to Shannon; sweet because Shannon secured another ScotGrad placement as a Digital Marketing Specialist with Tempest Brewing Co.
The ScotGrad team would like to thank Shannon for her hard work and are delighted to hear of her continued success in her new role!
