Klozers’ mission is to reduce graduate unemployment by equipping graduates with key sales and marketing skills through its completely free training course.
The organisation is focused on helping to create the next generation of sales and marketing professionals and works together with delivery partners, Genoa Black the Strategic Marketing experts and fatBuzz the Digital Marketing Specialists.
At ScotGrad, our collaboration with Klozers is a natural one as we aim to connect graduates with SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) to help these companies achieve their growth ambitions.
Shelley joined our current cohort of students on the training day earlier this month to experience it first-hand. The course itself provided an excellent opportunity for our graduates to network with one another and understand more about other organisations offering ScotGrad placements.
Graduates participated in interactive sessions specifically tailored to the stage each attendee was currently at in their placement. This ensured the lessons learned were valuable and could be put into practice by graduates the very next day when they returned to the office.
Industry experts shared knowledge and expertise with Iain Swanston, Director at Klozers offering fascinating insights into sales, exploring NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) sales techniques and how to use this to your advantage during sales activities. Whilst Claire Kinloch, Managing Director at Genoa Black shared a unique way to remember the Boston Matrix theory behind how to prioritise products and services: “Ditch the dogs and reach for the stars”.
Gordon White, Managing Director of fatBuzz, explored the wide variety of content that can be shared on social media, starting with simple ideas like using the annual calendar of events, holidays, and festivals to develop ideas into something with a spark of genius.
Attending the Academy was graduate Liam Gray of Rearo Laminates and he said: “I have really enjoyed networking with people in my profession and sharing our work experiences. The experienced presenters provided a lot of great hints and tips.”
Speaking about her thoughts on the training, Steph Smith, Marketing Executive at Genoa Black said: “It’s been great to meet graduates from different companies and get their insights and perspectives on sales and marketing. It’s good to understand the variety of marketing activities involved across different sectors.”
ScotGrad offers placements with SMEs therefore a number of our graduates are the only person working in marketing or business development for the company so getting the chance to meet, network and learn from both peers and industry experts in the same sector is invaluable.
This course is available to all graduates in the Lowlands and Central Belt currently on a ScotGrad placement. If the Klozers Sales and Marketing Academy sounds of interest to you, ask your employer to sign you up for the next intake on Friday 27th April: https://www.klozers.com/sales-academy
