ScotGrad playing its part in buoyant digital technologies sector

Digital technologies sector is creating career opportunities for ScotGrad Associates

The digital technologies sector plays a key role in the Scottish economy generating over £5 billion every year and ScotGrad is making an important contribution to this buoyant industry. 

Already, over 90,000 people are employed in this field in Scotland and the sector is continuing to grow with 7 out of 10 companies reporting an increase in sales in 2016. 

ScotGrad has supported a number of businesses in the sector with ScotGrad placements. 

Livingston based, Flexiops Ltd is currently looking for a Graduate Software Developer to support as it embarks on new research and innovation within Horizon 2020 Research and Development projects. 

Horizon 2020 is the biggest research and innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years – from 2014 to 2020 -  to deliver more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.  

The ScotGrad Associate will join the innovation-driven software development team which is working across a broad network of collaborative projects throughout Europe.

The Interactive Design Institute in Musselburgh recently recruited a Graduate Frontend Developer.  

The organisation is the UK’s leading provider of accredited online courses in art and design subjects and the ScotGrad is working as part of a team to develop and maintain a Bespoke Learning Management system that allows the development and delivery of university programmes online. 

Fèisean nan Gàidheal, which is based in Inverness, supports the development of community-based Gaelic arts tuition festivals throughout Scotland, and recently recruited a coordinator for its digital online service - FèisTV.

The ScotGrad Associate is working as part of the FèisTV team which focuses on broadcasting archive and newly-recorded material as well as streaming of live events and hosting Oide online learning. FèisTV has been designed to promote Gaelic culture, traditional music and song in a modern context.  

Orkney-based software development and consultancy, Kyloe recruited a ScotGrad Associate to help the business to improve the way it delivers services to clients.

Kyloe is a partner of leading CRM platform, Bullhorn and offers platform consulting and implementation services to Bullhorn clients to help them optimise the tool and drive their business forward. 

The ScotGrad Associate took a new approach to the challenge and his fresh thinking helped him to innovate and develop a tool which is a market leader in the industry and which saves time, energy and risk.
