We are always interested in meeting the students and graduates who undertake placements through the ScotGrad programme, and hear about their exciting projects. We met with Eleanor back in the summer of 2016, to find out more about her role and the path she took to get there…
Prior to joining Eureka Solutions, a leading ERP software provider based in East Kilbride, Eleanor graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business with Human Resource Management at Glasgow Caledonian University in July 2015.
“As well as doing my studies I undertook supervisory posts in the retail industry, moving on to a placement with Renfrewshire council after graduation. My role as a Business Improvement Intern there involved taking part in a project led assignment assisting with the implementation of an information system specific to Children’s Services. On completion of my Internship with Renfrewshire council, I joined Eureka Solutions on a graduate-level ScotGrad placement where I now help to oversee system implementations and upgrades from a different perspective.”
During her time with Eureka Solutions, Eleanor has been involved in an exciting range of tasks including coordinating project plans, preparing project documentation, arranging consultant travel plans, and improving business processes.
“I joined Eureka Solutions as a Project Management Graduate following an application via the ScotGrad website. I loved the prospect of working with an ambitious Scottish company on a worthwhile project.”
Soon after joining the company on her placement, Eleanor attended a free training course delivered by ScotGrad to help support her professional development.
“This course presented a series of challenges which were designed to supply me with valuable knowledge and business skills that I am now able to apply and reflect on during my placement. I really enjoyed the course - I gained some great insights and it was a fantastic opportunity to network with other like-minded graduates entering into graduate positions."
"I would absolutely recommend ScotGrad to future graduates!”
