Dan Mulqueen, a student from UHI based at the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre, said: “The internship has offered me priceless experience within a working environment, and has taught me an unimaginable amount. This opportunity has had one of the most beneficial impacts on my life to date! A massive thank you to SAIC, Skills Development Scotland, and last but not least, ScotGrad."

The successful students took up paid placements in Life Science companies across Scotland this summer, working on projects including R&D, Lab Skills, and Business Development. The team at ScotGrad were delighted to facilitate this programme, and worked collaboratively with industry, careers services, and public agencies to ensure that these students gained valuable work experience during their placements.

Stewart White, Chief Executive at Collagen Solutions, said: “Our company does a lot of different things and so it’s important we understand the markets of customers in a detailed fashion. That’s why it’s useful for us to have students who can come in and hit the ground running."

ScotGrad processed over 800 applications, with CVs sent in from every university in Scotland, and 2016 is expected to be even bigger and better. Stay tuned for more information about next year's programme:
