How to maximise your festive placement search

With time off from lectures, work and exams over Christmas, it’s the perfect time to re-focus your placement search. Nicola Meikle from the ScotGrad team, shares her advice on how to maximise your placement search this season.

If you can tear yourself away from the leftover turkey sandwiches and seemingly endless box of chocolates, the festive break is a great time to step up the search for a placement.

Follow the simple steps below to make the most of your time:


Many students and graduates often don’t know what career they want to embark on, so before starting your placement hunt, have a think about what you enjoy and are good at, then focus your efforts on careers that will suit you. Make the most of having your family around - ask what they think your strengths are, and talk about their personal experiences of interviews and getting on the career ladder.
