Tell us about your graduate placement within Yomego.

I was recruited by the company to join their Community Management team with the aim of helping to build engaged active online communities and promote the benefits of our client offerings on social media and through building relationships with online influencers.

Describe some of the challenges you faced during your placement.

I had to learn to prioritise work, whilst still maintaining the overall standard of results and my outputs. It was also difficult to deal with so many different types of projects at the same time. I managed these issues by taking sensible steps to monitor productivity and efficency and embracing feedback where necessary.

ScotGrad placements are designed to have a positive impact on the graduate both professionally and personally, was this your experience?

Absolutely. Throughout the placement, I have developed strong personal and professional relationships which has in turn, boosted my inner confidence. I have also gained very important and relevant industry experience and expertise.

You attended the ScotGrad business skills course, what impact did this have on you personally and were these easily applied to your placement?

I learned a lot on the course and it was very worthwhile. Specifically, I gained insight on how to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a small team. It also provided me with some clarity on career choices and opportunities. Overall, I think I improved my assertiveness, interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
