Junior BI Developer Salary: £22,000
Closing Date: 03 July 2017

Following a period of business change, it has been identified that the reporting and Business Intelligence capabilities are deficient and do not currently satisfy the requirements of the business from operational through to management level.

Phase one will build a suitable data access layer, which will be constructed to consolidate the various data sources identified for reporting. This will be a common dimensional data model suitable for use on a variety of technologies.  Following the construction of this model, phase two will require evaluation of suitable business intelligence and reporting platforms spanning our existing platform to the newer and more advanced cloud based offerings.  Once evaluated, it will extend to a re-development and implementation of new (and existing) reporting dashboards/reports on this new platform.

This project aligns to our newly proposed IT strategy which governs the stability of software platforms used within the business to ensure future capability and support, while exploiting cloud based technologies. The introduction of an effective business reporting solution will greatly aid the capabilities of management decision making.

The overall aim of this project is to enable the provision of ‘one-touch’ availability of highly complex data in the form of a multi-tier reporting suite. There will also be significant efficiency gains, as existing reporting is a slow and inaccurate process with a heavy reliance on manual reporting based on data extraction.

The new technology also offers additional benefit to be explored around the real-time analytics domain which could be used to report on real time telemetry from factory equipment – thus improving overall equipment effectiveness.

As an established fabric producer and supplier to both the UK and Worldwide export market for Window Blind materials, there is a continuing need for us to maintain existing sales, defend our current position within the UK Market, grow sales in an environment of increasing competition and where possible, capture new markets and business. Over the past 12 months, we have launched 3 new product collections in to the trade market. This was almost entirely based on the method of marketing the product via the ‘traditional’ collection book method. This project will help us identify new and contemporary marketing and point of sale techniques and materials which will inspire our trade customers and consumers alike. If successful, this could help us to increase sales over the coming 5 years and beyond and will assist us in continuing to be seen as an innovator within the sector and maintain a credible position with customers, old and new. ]]>
