If you are interested in advertising a graduate or student placement, contact your local Highlands and Islands Enterprise contact for an initial conversation. Alternatively you can contact the ScotGrad Team at any time for help and advice. 

Online Registration

The next step is to register your organisation as an employer which will allow you to manage the recruitment process online. If you are based in the SE area you can create your graduate or student placement specification. In the Highlands and Islands, once your placement project and funding has been agreed, the ScotGrad Team will prepare the placement advert for you and post it online on your behalf.

Adverting Placements

To make sure that we attract the best graduate and student applicants for your placements, we work alongside all Scottish university careers services to boost our reach. We also promote placements through other online graduate and student job resources and advertise using LinkedIn, TwitterFacebook, and Instagram. To engage with potential candidates, we encourage employers to do the same and we can support you on social media by sharing your content.

Recruitment Process

Candidates apply online. Once the deadline has passed you can review each application, shortlist candidates, and arrange interviews. Please provide constructive feedback to all candidates, whether successful or not. Once you have appointed a graduate or student you must provide the ScotGrad team with the individual’s details, including their start date. To improve our service we will send you a 'start of placement survey' to gauge your organisation’s experience of the process so far. A similar survey will be sent at the end of the placement period.
