Placement summary

The office in the central belt of Scotland is seeking a life science student to work within the Clinical Monitoring group to assist clinical research professionals in the achievement of clinical trial deliverables.  This position will be located within the Bellshill facility and will be for a period of 10 weeks.

Job description

Project Description

The candidate will provide administrative and technical support to the Project Team and work alongside Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), Remote Site Monitors (RSMs) and Project Assistants (PAs). They will coordinate responsibilities of project administration as applicable to client contracts under the direction of an assigned Clinical Manager.

Responsibilities may include, performing PPD Investigator file reviews, performing, processing regulatory documents, clinical trial management system data entry, updating and maintaining vendor trackers and maintaining data repositories.

The organisation is keen to both support and develop life science undergraduates and graduates and give students insight in the working of Clinical Trials.

Placement benefits

Training will be provided to ensure the candidate has the skills to work under supervision within a quality driven environment. This will include SOP (Standard Operation Procedure) training, clinical protocol training, IT skills and additional tasks related to the clinical research industry. The candidate will have the ability to work directly with skilled scientific staff across roles and also have exposure to the wider commercial workings of a busy service company. There is the opportunity to work as part of a large team, participate in department events as well as the regular office events such as Pay day Breakfasts and dress down Fridays.
