We are looking for a graduate to fill the role of Occupational Health and Safety Assistant within our growing practice. You will assist our health and safety team with the development and provision of our company’s health and safety consultancy services. The placement will give you an outstanding opportunity to work with and experience an extensive range of health and safety practices within a variety of industries, with the support of experienced practitioners.

Project Description

As part of the development and growth of our company, we intend to increase our health and safety service provision to offer ‘off the shelf packages’ to smaller standardised organisations such as hairdressers, beauticians, café’s, garages, electricians, gyms etc.

The focus of the project is for you to develop, market, provide, review and update these packages as required to ensure the highest quality product is offered.

Placement Objectives

Our ethos is to ensure clients receive the best quality service that is relevant and supportive. Health and safety provision is not always readily available or financially viable to smaller organisations, resultantly many do not have the ability to ensure legislative compliance or understand how to ensure the health and safety of their employees.

It is anticipated that the development of our packages will provide relevant, industry specific support at an affordable cost.

We are passionate about occupational health and safety and practical practice that supports business operation. It is our aim to develop of health and safety professionals to practice in this manner.

Role Description

Reporting to our Health and Safety Manager, you will assist in the provision of health and safety consultancy services to clients in a variety of industries.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • The preparation and review of safe systems of work, risk and coshh assessments
  • The development, review and implement health and safety policy, procedures and other relevant documentation within client organisations
  • Undertaking health and safety inspections and audits
  • Reviewing health and safety training courses
  • Developing the company’s health and safety service provision
  • Promoting the company’s occupational health and safety services.


A minimum of an undergraduate degree is required, however the discipline need not be health and safety related.

Skills / Experience

Essential Skills

We are looking for a motivated, diligent graduate with effective communication skills. You should be adaptable and capable of embracing new challenges. The project will require you to work successfully both independently and within a team.

You will also be IT literate and have a clean and current driving licence.

Desirable Skills

You should have a desire to further their learning and enhance their occupational experience in a bid to achieve the highest possible level of health and safety skill and aptitude.
