Placement summary

By the end of the project there will be improvements in sampling; the successful candidate will be able to take all samples through Dispense, Computerised data capture system, have a more robust technique to ensure samples can accurately be taken from the required location of bulk formulations, produce guidelines on optimum sample volumes for the amount/volume of formulation being prepared and streamline current aseptic sampling procedures when weights are captured.

The successful candidate will:

  • Become competent in the use of Dispense
  • Understand the Formulation Sampling process and understand the procedures and paperwork in place
  • Demonstrate that samples taken using Dispense are within acceptation limits
  • Explore IT solutions to assist with this project with the help of on site experts

Qualifications

Charles River will provide training in the necessary laboratory techniques to ensure safety and quality while in the laboratory.

The project will teach key industry skills in Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), providing an insight into compliance with regulatory standards. The placement-holder will gain experience in the performance of a study from set up to delivery of results, learning the documentation skills necessary for industry.

Charles River Edinburgh has a canteen offering hot and cold food and an onsite fitness suite as well as free staff parking on-site and transport links from Edinburgh.
