Placement summary

The successful candidate will develop, test, and implement electronic documents for the management and circulation of data related to processes within analytical chemistry services. 

Several areas have been identified where current processes, databases and documents are out of date and can be improved. There are also areas where no solutions currently exist to provide consistent presentation and management of data. These relate to processes within the department and for delivery of data to clients. A successful placement will result in improved processes where a reduction in turnaround time and error occurrence can be implemented.

The successful candidate will:

  • Review current processes and documents that have been identified for potential improvement
  • Review current processes where no solution for data management and presentation exists
  • Develop and test improvements/new electronic documents/databases
  • Review data flow related to elemental analysis systems to target implementation of new processes to reduce turnaround time and errors related to reporting of data to clients
  • Set-up monitoring of changed processes to track improvement

Placement benefits

Charles River will provide training in the necessary laboratory techniques to ensure safety and quality while in the laboratory.

The project will teach key industry skills in Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), providing an insight into compliance with regulatory standards. The placement-holder will gain experience in the performance of a study from set up to delivery of results, learning the documentation skills necessary for industry.
