Placement summary

The aim of this project is to investigate a novel DNA extraction methodology and its potential application to our current molecular testing offerings and also to develop a panel of PCR tests for characterisation of embryonic stem cells. Any data obtained will be included in a research report.

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out molecular processes as detailed in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including but not limited to DNA extraction and PCR, research into and development of embryonic stem cell characterisation using novel extraction methodology and PCR.

Project Description

The successful candidate will be given appropriate training to carry out these tasks. They will be expected to record and present data to a lead scientist in a clear and concise manner and offer interpretations of the data including a written report at the end of the project detailing work undertaken and results obtained. There will also be the opportunity to present findings to the wider Development Services group.
