Placement summary

BioReliance is invested in building a digital and automated business for the future. In 2019, we are establishing a strong platform for this vision by creating and implementing Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN) to replace current paper records.

The ELN student will work with testing groups to understand technical requirements and help to create an ELN in Microsoft Excel to fulfil the needs of the department, assess and contribute to those ELN already going through the process, and support Validation activities through testing of the ELN via the online BioReliance Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and creation of appropriate Validation documentation.

Job description

Project Description

ELN records are created in Microsoft Excel. Data validations and conditional formatting are key to minimize manual input and increase automation in the process. BioReliance offers an array of testing services, meaning the creation of a vast range of ELN records. Furthermore, as BioReliance is a GxP facility, these new records must go through rounds of Quality review and Validation cycles.

Placement Objectives

Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN), enable us to automate process steps, pre-schedule assay procedures and include prompts / reminders so our error rate is reduced and turnaround more streamlined. ELN is the connection to a stronger digital presence i.e. instrument integration, robotic influence and material control.
