Placement summary

BioReliance are currently introducing new electronic laboratory data recording methods to replace existing electronic methods and paper based data recording.  The implementation of ELN is being carried out in order to improve documentation quality, standardise data recording and streamline data recording and data review associated with laboratory procedures.

The placement will involve working with the Virology department to assist in this process. This will include observation of Virology assays in a GMP/GLP compliant laboratory, identification of critical data recording steps and preparation and testing of excel based templates for recording of this information.

Currently Virology use a combination of paper based batch records and an electronic Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to record critical information for Virology assays processes.
