Albert Bartlett is the UK’s leading grower and packer of potatoes, a family business established in 1948. We have an exciting graduate opportunity for a recent business or science graduate. The main focus of the role will see you assisting the Procurement, Agronomy and Commercial teams to help leverage and maximise benefit from the collation and analysis of information from our ERP and other systems across the company. This is a 12 month placement initially and will be based in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire.
We are continually being asked by our customers about how we ensure they have potato stock for their orders. This project will help us to improve how we look at metrics from all farmers and understand why some farmers can yield an 80% crop from seed to lifting them out of the ground and others are yielding 65%. It will also help us to look at farmers, areas, potato species, volumes etc will bring information we can present to customers to support our business growth.

A key focus of the role will be to provide support around the use of commercial data from grower returns, production records and agronomic information, and to manipulate and process data, across various formats to fulfil business data requirements, improving the efficiency of our supply base and production sites.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a numerate person, looking for a stepping stone into a career in data analysis. To be successful, you will demonstrate an interest and enthusiasm in working in a fast moving, challenging and equally rewarding role. You will be based at our head office in Airdrie but will be required to visit our production sites across the UK.
HND or Degree in appropriate discipline, ideally Business or Scientific related.
Skills / Experience
- A methodical yet innovative approach, to be able to collate, analyse and interrogate data
- Experience of analysis, charting and visualisation tools / methods
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Logical and problem solving skills with a desire to derive benefit from the analysis of company generated data.
- Familiarity with a NAV based ERP system
- Competent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise your workload and apply good time management skills
- A high level of self-motivation whilst remaining organised and methodical
- Commitment to improving personal skills and understanding our business
- Commercial or agricultural experience
